Non-traditional wedding

Last Friday we had the chance to make 2 big cakes for a fabulous wedding! It kept us busy but both cakes were fun and not your average wedding cake. The wedding cake was a 4 tier chocolate cake, filled with ganache & caramel, and frosted with dark chocolate buttercream and covered with dark chocolate fondant. It had ivory color accents with silver dragees down one side to tie in the cake topper.

The Groom's cake was a Super Mario Brothers themed castle, complete with Princess Peach and Mario! Top tier is carrot cake with cream cheese filling. Second tier is white cake with strawberry filling, and the bottom tier is lemon cake with lemon filling.
The reception was held in the Stuekle Sky Center that overlooked all of Boise and the BSU Stadium. It all was very beautiful! Thanks to Nate and Jamie.

Chef Charise's Cake!

I had the honor and stress of making a birthday cake for Charise. What kind of cake do you make for a cake decorator! I think I found the perfect solution.

Everything but the frosting tip is edible. The piping bag was made from rice krispie treats and wrapped in fondant. The candles on the cupcakes were made with fondant as well.
Good old fashioned chocolate cake with dark, rich chocolate frosting.

We were excited to try a new technique for this cake. We covered it in white fondant and used a gumpaste wheel to give it a fun quilted look. Perfect for a baby shower. We then covered it in varying shades of pink daisies.

Cupcakes: Vanilla cake, filled with fresh strawberry filling, frosted with our yummy strawberry frosting & topped with a chocolate dipped strawberry.

Lemon cake, filled with lemon custard filling and frosted with vanilla buttercream.

pregnancy cravings? We can help!

We delivered a few dozen assorted cupcakes to an orthopedic clinic a couple weeks ago for nurses week. The nurses thoroughly enjoyed devouring those little beauties.

One nurse, who I should mention is over 6 months pregnant, instantly fell in love with our cookie dough cupcake.

I was told she wanted to do a lab analysis on them as she was convinced there had to be some type of controlled substance inside. *giggle*

She order herself a dozen of these babies. If you ask me, she deserved them.
Hope you enjoyed them Heather!

Princess Sarah

Is there really any better theme than "princess" for a girl's b-day party?
I don't think so.
Sarah (who was turning 4 ) loved these little crowns! The white cake with strawberry frosting was a huge hit.
The small cake/cupcake combo is a sweet idea. Birthday party attendees enjoy the cupcakes and the cake is saved for the family celebration. Perfect.

Have you tried our strawberry frosting...made from real strawberries?
